Python B2 4 up Violet CTP System

Python is a B2/4-up semi-automatic CtP system which uses a high precision internal drum and violet laser technology – a combination proven to give the most reliable and consistently accurate imaging on metal plate. Python’s superb imaging quality is achieved using a powerful 120mW violet laser diode. Its precise optical system is capable of imaging with screens at over 200 lpi, giving excellent results on plate and press.

Python’s high speed spinner is designed for fast imaging. Combined with easy plate handling, Python can output up to 20 B2 plates per hour, including plate loading and unloading time. Python can also optionally be configured to automatically unload plates into a plate processor for semiautomated production.

Cobra 8 B1 8-up CTP System

Cobra 8 is a manual load-unload CtP engine designed specifically for the B1/8-up commercial print market. It exposes violet metal plates at high resolution, using high precision internal drum imaging optics and a 120mW laser diode. The plate is placed directly into the drum by the operator and is located in the registration system. Vacuum is then applied to hold the plate in perfect register while it is imaged at a resolution of 2540 dpi (100 dpmm) or 1270 dpi (50 dpmm) at speeds of 6mm and 12mm per second respectively.  At 2540dpi an B1/8-up plate takes only three minutes to image, regardless of content.

The Cobra CtP solution includes a high-spec workstation running HighWater’s innovative output console providing all the tools needed to manage your plate imaging. Supplied with the advanced Navigator Harlequin RIP as standard, Cobra 8 is an open system that can accept 1-bit TIFF files from any source. Software options available include full PDF workflow, imposition, In-RIP trapping and proofing.

Cobra 8 News High Speed 8-up CTP System

Cobra 8 News is a 1270 dpi version of our popular manual load-unload CtP engine supporting a range of plate formats from B1/8-up all the way down to B3/2-up and anything in between! It exposes violet metal plates at high speed, using precision internal drum imaging optics and a 120mW laser diode. The plate is placed directly into the drum by the operator and is located in the registration system with options including the most flexible corner/edge registration system making it suitable for any printing press. Vacuum is then applied to hold the plate in perfect register while it is imaged at a resolution of 1270 dpi (50 dpmm) at a speed of 12mm per second. Cobra 8 News can produce up to 26 full size plates per hour.
